Just the Facts

There is  a system for memorizing multiplication facts that works well with the Mosaic Moments grid system. 10 Days to Multiplication Mastery is  a wonderful program I have used with our kids to teach, and to review for those who needed a little more work. This visual is to clearly show the commutative properties. The colors relate to the way they are taught in the system.

The book is available on Amazon, but I noticed people commented on the difficulty finding the wrap-ups that go along with making it work. One place you can get both is here: http://www.christianbook.com/10-days-to-multiplication-mastery-book/0943343690/pd/59720?product_redirect=1&Ntt=59720&item_code=&Ntk=keywords&event=ESRCP

there is also a new version of the book with the wrap-ups included.

You actually work with a 12x12 block for all the tables, but as MM only is 10x10, I've left out the first two tables 1's and 2's, as those are the easiest to learn while 11's and 12's need more work.

Now, I've done this with this program in mind, but it can be tweaked to suit your needs. Only the facts no answers are on this grid, but if you wanted to you could cut bright double-sided paper like Doodlebug Design papers and create a flip version, with the answer under the flap. Cut strips 1"x 2" and fold in half with a sharp crease to keep it down.

Of course the real learning could take place by having your student do the work! The bright colors also can be one way to make learning a bit more enjoyable. So go and enjoy!

I am sooooo far removed from the classroom that I find this very interesting. I will have to check this system out some time. Fortunately, my grandson is already past that stage of learning. Who knows, I might need it for a great grandchild some day, LOL. Thanks for sharing this info and a great grid LO.

This is great Andrea! I work with grid paper daily and I am not sure why I didn't think to use it for one of my summer goals (help Cole learn all his facts.) Thanks for the idea!
