Happy Nurse's Day

For May's second Design Team Challenge, we were to use Mosaic Moments page pattern 13, Sunflower grid paper and I choose to put a quote on my page for my extra element.

Here is what page pattern 13 looks like:

It was Nurse's Day a couple weeks ago. I am a school nurse ( a new role for me this year after being a stay at home mom for 11 years). My office mates surprised me with a lovely cookie bouquet when I came to work. I had to get a photo of it. One of our adminstrator's sent cards out to all the nurses with a lovely quote on it by Florence Nightingale. I thought the quote would be perfect for my project this month.

It was fun making a page about me. Most of my pages are about my kids and their activities. Going back to work this year has been a major event for me and our family so getting it documented was important.

You are right--we don't often enough include ourselves in our layouts. What a nice thing for your coworkers to do. The layout is very well done and is one I'm sure you'll treasure for many years. How do you have time to work AND complete these challenges? I'm retired, and it keeps me hopping!

I know what you mean about doing mosaics with yourself. I always call the scrapbooks I make "charlie brown scrapbooks" because you rarely see the adults. For each child's album, I get caught up in focusing on the best pics of that child, and end up leaving out the adults who took them places or made their activities and events happen! I'm glad you shared something personal and I like the close-ups of the individual cookies.

How thoughtful of your coworkers! I always enjoy learning what my fellow crafters do as their "day job!" Your background paper is fun and lively too!

Sarah, thanks for taking the time to add the two close ups - the quote is lovely. Love how you used the 4 squares to show off the individual cookies.

Excellent Quote! Thanks for including the close up of it...it adds so much to what you do as a nurse. The quote compares nursing to art and how appropriate that primary colors (red, blue and yellow-sunflower) the artists necessary basics, are the predominant colors you've got featured in paper and the photos (with green and orange, secondary colors coming in strong). well done!

Andrea-Thanks for your comment and the great suggestion to add a close up of the quote. I edited my post and added the quote.

Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself Sarah. Isn't it nice to be appreciated? What a nice surprise. You've made a very colorful page for your special memory. I wish you'd included the quote from Florence Nightingale in a close up...I always like seeing the details!
