Happy Birthday @ the Mall of America

For a girl who loves to shop as much as Alexis does there is just one place to spend a birthday - at the Mall of America.

The view

Alexis and Cole looking out into the Nickalodian theme park inside the Mall of America.

This was the second year Alexis has been to the Mall of America for her birthday - this year was even more exciting because two of her favorite stores opened (The American Girl doll store and a Barbie store.)

Bday girl

We decided to celebrate the big day with lunch in the American Girl cafe. Pink lemonade was the drink of choice.

Cole chose a friend (on loan) to sit with him.

The chef brought his friend out to meet us.

we started with a fruit plate and

cheese fondue - yummy!

Food

The meals were delicious - Alexis ordered Salmon (one of her favorites) and I ordered a yummy salad.

Ceiling

loved the ceiling and light fixture over the dessert bar.

after lunch we did a bit of shopping. Later we went to Coldstone for a final Birthday treat.

In 2010 we will have to come up with a new birthday adventure for "the Princess." Will it involve shopping? Probably.

Good Bye Mall of America - we will miss you!

Have never been to the Mall of America but it's on my bucket list. Looks like a blast! Has anyone been to the scrapbooking event in September sponsored by Archivers? Is it worth the trip? Is it too crowded? I've only been to local Archiver events.
