Winnie the Pooh- You are braver than you believe...

Challenge #4 for the design team was to create a layout using Walt Disney as inspiration. I could have chosen any number of photos from Disneyland or any number of memorable quotes from my favorite Disney Movies. I must tell you; I have tons!!!

Instead, I chose to use my oldest daughter, Sammi, all dressed up as Pooh bear when she was only 8 months old. Sammi recently turned 16 and something inside of me changed. I am suddenly sad to send my youngest child to kindergarten next year. I have focused more time on worrying about each of my kiddos. Literally, I am FREAKING OUT!!!

That being said, here is the layout I created:

The poem that is included on the page reads as follows:

For this page, I used the Mosaic Moments STORM colored paper that can be found at Snapncrop.com. With all of the blue in the photo of my daughter, the paper itself looks blue in the photo of the entire page- it does not do justice to the beautiful contrast between the paper and the photo.

Unfortunately, the patterned paper that I used was an oldie of mine and no longer had the company name strip attached. The rest was card stock that I matched as best I could. I enjoyed cutting out little leaves to match the ones in the photo.

I hope you enjoy the page- I loved making it!

Truly a life moment, you displayed it well. While I'm a fan of doing layouts shortly after the event you celebrated, I find that marrying past to present allows us to cherish life moments even more. The colors and patterns worked well together and the general layout keep your focus where it belongs. Thanks for sharing.

Adorable layout! The colors are very vibrant and bright and I love it. The falling leaves are a nice creative touch. Very nice!

I think the colors you chose really bring out her blue eyes. She is adorable. The colors look like they came right out of a children's story book and the leaves add great embellishment.

Just beautiful! Love the poem and the little Pooh underneath. The paper brings out Sammi's beautiful blue eyes. The orange is a nice contrast to the costume and I like the cut out leaves.

Sweet sentiment in the poem, one we all relate to! Using the leaves to repeat an element in the photo is a very nice touch. Nice to see a way to save a portrait photo, too.

This is so sweet! I chose Winnie the Pooh as my inspiration, as well.

Always a fan of Winnie the Pooh (though Eeyore is my favorite...) - this picture is adorable. Love the whole page, especially the little Pooh square in the lower corner.

My daughter (currently 15) is always asking me why I love Winnie the Pooh so much. I should show her your page and tell her "this is why". She still wouldn't understand - but, I know someday she will. :)

I agree with Lori...ADORABLE!! You did a great job on this page. I love the color combination and the photo and poem are priceless. This will be a page you and Sammi will treasure forever!

Adorable! And the poem is very special. The colors work nicely, and you did a great job with the leaves and the patterned paper. I like the swirl in the corner...classy! Nice job, Billi!
