MMDT Challenge #1 All about ME!

The first challenge of 2013 was to design a layout or two that was all about me. This was a challenge because 1st: I seldom take photos of myself, 2nd: I seldom write about who I am or what I am doing, and 3rd: Between the holidays and our upcoming trip to Hawaii, I have not made adequate time. By the way, when I say it is an upcoming trip... I mean we leave TONIGHT!

That being said, if there are grammatical errors, or you want more information about a product etc., you will have to wait until my husband and I return from Hawaii!!! NOW I am getting excited!!!

So here goes, this is the 1st of the 2 page layout I created:

And here is the 2nd:

I used The Ivory colored gird paper from Mosaic Moments (www.snapncrop.com) to create these pages. The dark blue paper is Minnow Creek from the company October Afternoon (www.OctoberAfternoon.com). The butterflies are all cut from the same line of paper, the color is Huckleberry Hill.

I actually loved writing the paragraphs, but found that I could not fit all the information that I wanted to and had to leave out so many people who significantly impacted my life. I just kept telling myself that I would do more pages to incorporate these people.

I have copied the paragraphs here, but without the same formatting. And remember, no grammar checks today please.

Growing up to 18

Born 1-23-76, lived with my mom and sister who watched me in softball, swimming, track, etc., Had 6th and 8th grade teachers I made crazy. Loved 7th grade math & 8th grade pe teachers. Lived with Dad and SM from 8th-11th grade (intermittently), lived with Mandy Paul and her family in Illinois, where I wore a shapka-ushanka for heat, then with Lee, Dad, and Granda Doris until graduation from Gilbert High School in 1994.

Names: then & now

Billi Jo by my mom and old friends, Jo by siblings, Aunt Jo Jo by a nephew, Billi Jo Bob Slob by an angry little sister, and Billi by colleagues and newer friends. Baby Baby by my hubby, and my personal favorite- Goat Breath by my dad.

My Favorites:

Foods: pizza, steak, spinach salad with goat cheese, chocolate, any baked goods, and all kinds and sorts of breads. Clothing: black or brown shirts and jeans. Tv Shows: Greys Anatomy and Friends. Music: Country & Nursery Rhymes. Movies: Emperor’s New Groove, Brave, Ghost,  Pretty Woman, and It’s a Wonderful Life. Books: Hunger games series, To kill a Mockingbird, I am number 4, My Sister’s Keeper, and several other by Jodi Picoult.

My Family:

My husband is the person who has potential to make my day absolutely perfect. He also can make me the most CRAZY!! Really, we are perfect for each other. Sammi is my oldest @ 15. She is athletic, smart, kind, beautiful, and a great friend. She likes volleyball, but loves her horse, Pokie. Kaylee is my 6 year old mini me. She has the same disposition as I do- one that makes the people around her just a bit nervous, but also “awake.” Lincoln is my baby @ 4 yrs old. He is the one who is quiet, loving, sweet, and smart. He loves the iPad, swimming, and any outdoor activity.

My Fears:

My greatest fear is dying and leaving my three children without a mother. Second to that is something happening to my family (kidnapping at the top). Other fears include airplanes (despite statistics), sharks, snakes, tornados, hurricanes, and recently after watching a portion of The Grey, snow drifts, wind, endless ice, and wolves!

Adult Life

Married 10 days out of high school ‘94’ to Jake, gave birth to Sammi in ‘97’, bachelor degree in education/ math in ’99’, divorced, apartment life, math teacher 99-06, First house in ‘01’, Masters degree in Educational Counseling ‘02’, Black Belt @ Nottingham’s tae kwan do in ’02’, dating, met Sarge ‘04’, married in ‘05’, Kaylee born in ‘06’, Lincoln born ‘08’, Happiness followed.

My Quirks

I love giving other people’s children sugar, taking silly pictures, playing pranks (my favorite is taping the sprayer on the sink), singing on voicemail, blowfish(es) on any glass surface, locking/ unlocking car doors preventing entrance, ordering a tremendous amount of food at a restaurant because I’m hungry, dropping off tampons to Sammi’s school with whatever she forgot at home, pasta sinus trick, texting “made you look”, and then there is Helen(a story for another time.)

Happy and Mad:

Some things that make me HAPPY are scrapbooking, byob painting with friends, nights out with my husband while my kids are snuggled safely in their beds, Jami coming to visit and play with me, talking on the phone with mom while I clean the house. The things that makes me most MAD/ ANGRY are people lying to me and people pretending to be someone they are not.

And this flower I found on a card I had

created and thought it belonged here.

Aloha my friends!

A Spenial thanks to Aunt Donna, Cheri, and Chris

for taking care of my babies while I am away.

Hawaii here we come!!!

I am just starting a book about me--have been procrastinating on this one for about 12 years. Now I don't feel so overwhelmed--you have given me some much-needed inspiration to try to cram 68 years of living into one album. It looks great; I especially like the added butterflies!

How fun! You look like a fun person! Enjoyed reading lots about you! I can relate to time issues...I just got married in Jamaica in December, crammed in Christmas and New Years, and now have to get MY layout on here! LOL! I SO look forward to getting to know you and the rest of the MMDT 2013 this year! Hugs!
