MMDT August Challenge #2 Napa 2004

First let me say, my scanner is not not cooperating. So here is a photo of August Challenge #2 Napa 2004. This was not my original plan for this page. We were in NYC on Friday 8/17 and I took many photos in preparation for this challenge. I was excited to document our day/evening and even had the embellishments picked out. Of course, some of the photos were too dark, others not up to par, so I went back into my stash and decided to use photos from our trip to Napa Valley way back in 2004.

The pattern we were to use was #14 which has 16  2 inch squares surrounded by a 1" border. I chose to use clear stamps as my additional element. I am new to stamps so I am need of much practice. I had a "cheers" stamp that was perfect in addition to Tami's travel stamp that I used to add the handwritten title Napa Valley 2004. In the top left box, I added words that described our trip. The 1" border paper was a wine/grape/leaf sheet that I had in my stash of paper.

With the scanner not working correctly and the photos not up to my standards, I had to be very flexible for this challenge and quickly rethink my plan. I hope you enjoy the final result.

Very cool use of the grid. Makes me think of things I can do that way!

Even though it's little I love the colors! I'm sure the original is awesome. It looks like it was a fun trip.

Beth I think we can all relate to having to go with plan "B"...seems like a good save! Love the colorful paper for the side bars, complements the Husk Grid paper. I wish I could see all your details! Unfortunately, even with trying to enlarge it I'm having a hard time seeing it all :( and I do love seeing everyone's photos!

Good for you to be able to go to plan B! Love how you were able to adjust and your end project is lovely.
