How Are They Alike?

Our second challenge for June included using granite grid paper and MM pattern 23, which includes a list ladder.  In addition to these two specs, I also selected patterned paper and brads.

I recently took two of my granddaughters who are sisters, Shannon (9) and Shelby (6) to one of our nearby parks where they love to play.  The pictures of that outing seemed to lend themselves to the granite paper, and the picture of Shelby on the slide was a good one for the narrow 2 1/8" x 6 5/8" right side pic.  I had to print 5 x 7"s of both pictures on the first page, because they wouldn't be large enough otherwise.  Of course I trimmed the one on the right.  I also added "wood look" paper to the sides of the larger one to fill in the extra 1/2" needed to fit the grid.  I used grass print paper at the bottom of both pages and cloud print paper at the top.

Shannon's top was printed with hearts, and Shelby's top was pink, so I chose to alternate red and pink heart brads for bullet points.   Some of the clouds have little red hearts in them too.  The descriptive words, cute, funny, happy, smart, creative, and loved! are red rub-ons.  The background paper for the list looks like boards.  The title is a variety of black and dark brown letter stickers.

Even though the girls are much different in many ways, I love them equally and hope they enjoy having this mosaic as part of their album this year.  Of course, I have many more pictures!

I like how the list ladder in wood matches the theme of the wood play area. Great job!

I like the "they alike" page the way you had the angle of the pole on the left opposite of the 2 on the right. It brings your eye to view the page as a whole. Great job, as usual!

I like that on the "alike" side of the page, you had the girls in the same pose! Great layout!

I love the close up photos and cloud paper. It really makes you feel like you are there! I also love how you used the wood paper and hearts on the list ladder!

Love the big, bold photos! Using wood and grass patterned papers are a perfect compliment to the elements of the photos and the clouds add the pop of color that brings out the color in the girls outfits. I love the heart brads, too! Well done!

What an adorable page for two adorable girls! Love how you "stacked" the paper - fun clouds at the top, wood, and then the grass. Great idea for park pages - your second page is a great compliment to the page pattern.

The paper you used complimented the wooden playground item perfectly. I love how you tied in the clouds and grass and the brads that matched the girls' clothes. I hope that I can do layouts half as good as yours when my grandson is born in November!

I like how you turned the pattern into a 2 page spread. The cloud paper at the top and grass paper tie the pages together. Looks like the girls had a fun outing.
