Cakes Come Alive

 Greetings,

My little girl grew up to be a wonderful wife and an amazing mother. She is now thirty years old and has had the privilage to be able to be a stay at home mom. That is not an easy job, because she helps out at the school, goes to all of her children's activites, tries to keep a clean house and not to mention, her devotion to making meals good and different.

Her children are the ages of 9, 6, 4 and 2. All are boys except for the youngest and she was born on my birthday. That was quiet an unexspected birthday gift! (Smile)

Most all of the other mother's had careers and my daughter always felt out of place when being with them in a group of any sort. They would sit around and talk about their exciting jobs and their accomplishments, but worse... when they asked what she did, they would roll their eyes to the sky and continue talking, but not to her.

She loved being a full time housewife and mother to her children and she took a pride in both departments. But, something was missing in her life and she decided to search for something to fill that void.

One afternood, she asked if I could watch the children, because she wanted to do something different. I watched her get out pans, flour, messuring cups, sppons, milk and a whole bunch of other things. I took the children to the cabin to play games and watch the ET movie. Hours went by and finally she let me know she was done. I never knew my daugter was into art in any way and she never showed an interest in art either, but sitting on the counter was a cake she had made and I was completely surprised. Below is a picture of that cake.

She made this for the school's halloween party. Since this day she has made many 3D cakes for baby showers, weddings, birthdays and many other holidays and now... she says "I am a stay at home mom and a 3D cake artist and they are amazed at her talent.

I am very proud of her and that hidden talent that came to surface.

Great cake! Stay at Home Moms are often under appreciated, but I do admire her stick-to-it-ness! It is SO worth it! Finding a niche to express her talent will set her apart from those who "just have jobs". This is something she ENJOYS...not too many of her critics will likely be able to say that! Pure Satisfaction!

I am totally impressed! Both with her decision to be a SAHM - the most important job ever - and her talent as a fabulous cake artist! Thank you for sharing.
