The Texas Bar-B-Q Experience

After the San Marcos convention ended we drove up to Austin to visit with Kevin's brother.  He and his wife introduced us to a place called Rudy's.

When we pulled in the drive way the first thing I noticed was the Shell gas station. Rudy's is a gas station? I thought we were here to eat Bar-B-Q. Hummm...

Then we went inside and I noticed a big neon sign that says "The Worst Bar-B_Q in Texas." That is not how you would expect a restaurant to advertise itself, is it?

The line was really long - no worries, you can grab yourself a cold drink while you are waiting.

We felt lucky to find a table and then Terry brought over the "plates?" (sheets of parchment paper.)

They gave us an entire loaf of bread with our order, served family style in tin foil pans.

So, was the food "The Worst Bar-B-Q in Texas? - Well, if it is, I can't wait to have Bar-B-Q in Texas again!

RUDY'S BAR-B-QUE YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! OMG! I love it. In the past, I've gone to Texas several times and Rudy's is the first AND last place I stop, not the Riverwalk, or Sea World, later for that, it's Rudy's. The line is always long, but it is soooo worth it. The cream corn is to die for! Yummy.
