The Magic Lamp

To be honest, this project took me far longer than anticipated. So long, in fact, that I started another project at the same time and it is almost complete. (I will be posting that one soon.)

Anyway, I saw this lamp at Walmart one day and contemplated doing a project like this. That was TWO years ago! About a month ago, I measured it and figured out it was almost the perfect size for the mosaic moments method. About a month and a half ago, after bailing on another project that would not come together for me, I started this one. Now, that it is finished, I am so glad I did it.

Here is a photo of the front of the lamp: (notice the 1" squares around the base; they are random photos from my daughter and her horse).

Here is a photo of the back: (I loved being able to put the date on the project using the Mosaic Moments Striplets found at snapncrop.com)

Here is a photo of each of the two sides... This is when you can really start to see the Mosaic Moments influence in this project.

And finally, the two photos that show how the outside and the inside go together... For this project, I used the black and the sunflower colored grid paper that can be found at snapncrop.com

Well. there you have it... A working lamp for my daughter, Sammi featuring her and her horse, Jasper.

This was a super fun, but challenging project. I am looking forward to posting my other project soon.

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Thank you all!!! To answer your question, Tami, Sammi did know that I was making it. However, once it was done, she said how it looked nothing like what she imagined it to be. She loves it. Her only question was if she gets to actually keep it / put it in her room. I haven't decided yet. ;-)
