LATITUDE/LONGITUDE

Challenge #13 on Spring Green Grid paper www.snapncrop.com using page pattern #48.  The theme of the layout is My Spot on the Big Blue Marble and to describe your spot. Elements to use included a layered photo, lots of little tags or a list.  I chose the list.  I've had these pictures ready for a few weeks and was excited about this assignment.

Supplies used:

Spring Green Grid Paper and Black Circle Tile from  www.snapncrop.com. Daisy d's rub-on transfers for the list and quote. Core'dinations green paper with canvas texture.  Glue dots to hold the wood laser cut accents and the heart flag.  Title font Theatre from Microsoft in 26 size printed on colored cardstock.

I have always enjoyed the porch, patio, deck, or whatever you may call your gathering area at your home.  When my husband and I were first starting out we lived in an apartment that had a 4x6 foot concrete slab off the living room. We barbequed on a TINY hibachi. There was no room for patio furniture we sat on the tailgate of his truck.

Before we got our first house (it was vacant a very long time) we would get white castles and sit on the back porch hoping our loan would go through and that the neighbors didn't call the police :) This was the same porch he proposed to me in 1987.  We stayed in this house until 1999.

Ok, enough reminiscing.  We moved in June 1999 to a nearby lake community in Hillsboro, Missouri.  We both love living on the water. Even though the house is a maintenance nightmare it is surrounded by beauty!  Either lot on side of the house have remained vacant since we moved here. It is very peaceful. Love feeding the birds, ducks, fish and turtles. I've included those photos on other layouts so no varmints on this one. Just our back porch and the surrounding lake.  I just love wind chimes! To squeeze 4 of them in I had to cut and place 2 photos side by side.  Every spring I plant herbs.  I used to plant tomatoes and peppers too in containers on the upper deck.  Can't seem to find the time to keep up with everything so I buy most of my produce from the local coop or fruit stands.  Yes, I have some yard ornaments.  My favorites are on the first page the cherub and the gator.  The gator was purchased when I sold House of Lloyd (Christmas Around the World) remember that?  It is very old and worn but I leave out on the largest rock in the photo of the house.  It is the same rock that the red-eared water turtles congregate on.

 PAGE TWO

When I looked up Hillsboro on Google I got the idea use the latitude/longitude for the title.  The quote by Anna F. Trevisan was found by accident on the same page of rub-on that is used on the list.  It seemed appropriate for the page and mood.  The list is not in any order but I really like #7!  With this being the celebrated holiday weekend I added a local flag and punched in the shape of a heart.  Hope you enjoyed "My Spot".  God bless America!!!

I enjoyed everything about this page. I especially like your potted garden. Who needs a vacation when you have a home that is your haven?

This is the stuff that people dream of - on the water - like living a vacation. Love your yard ornaments - especially the gater with the tail poking out of the photo.

I can see why this is your spot. It just screams "leave the world behind and come relax". The title is awesome!

Your design is peaceful, serene and yet chock full of interesting things to look at. This is a great design. That swing overlooking the water is such a great place to read a book or just ponder life. I love this layout.

A nice place indeed, Julie! love the peaceful setting of your spot and the elements that make it special. I do remember H of L! I can see myself on your swing with a good book enjoying your view and the chimes. The idea to use the longitude/latitude for your title was BRILLIANT!!What a wonderful retreat from a day at work, how blessed you are!
