Bridges MMDT #6

When I first read this challenge I was quite perplexed and anxious. After thinking about the challenge, I found I could think more abstract when shooting photos. While driving through town, I came upon Spring Lake in Spring Lake, NJ. I knew I wanted to use Monet's painting above as my inspiration above. When I came upon this lake with its bridges, I felt this was the perfect place for photos.

I did a one page layout using MM grid paper storm. I used chocolate cream tiles for matting and filling in. The area around the lake is serene but filled with interest. I highlighted the row boat close up and across the lake and I took lots of photos of the bridge.

The color of the water is spectacular.

The photo in the upper left-hand side of the layout shows a long shot of the bridge and gives one a sense of serenity. It was a very cold and windy day. That made it easy for me to take my pictures without worrying about people as the look I was going for was serenity and peacefulness just like in Monet's painting.

I overcame my fear of this challenge and managed to do two separate layouts (Bridges and Ducks) which just goes to show you can really challenge yourself and do great things.

Beautiful layout! I wish we had more bridges here in AZ... The closest we have are freeway overpasses. Great job on your photos!

I am fascinated by bridges. I take pictures of them almost everywhere I find one. Love the long shot and that feeling of an impending journey...going somewhere. Alternate views of the boat and repetition of boats is a nice focus that you tied together in the one shot. While it's a bit early to duplicate the lushness of the Monet, you have captured a peacefulness in the starkness of winter with your layout. The sun shining adds to that, if it had been overcast and grey...it would have been so dreary. So glad the weather cooperated!

I love the bridge photos...and you are right, very serene. I also think the shadow adds interest! Very nice.

The blue of the water goes well with the matting. I find bridges fascinating. You can't go wrong with water, boats, bridges and ducks! Good job:)
