MMDT Challenge #6

Our second March challenge was to let ourselves be inspired by an artist.  I was very excited about this challenge as it gave me a reason to get out there and take new photos!  I knew my artist right away and the timing was a perfect fit living here in the Northeast.

I have always loved the works of Thomas Kinkade and his winter scenes specifically.

My photos were taken during a recent snowmobile trip.  It had snowed the night before and during our ride there were many spots where the trees were heavy with snow (one of the elements that I love about Kinkade's work) and then on our way home it continued to snow giving my ample opportunity to take photos of the snow laden trees and a few buildings as well.  My pages were done using the storm grid paper, I also used the snowman & snowflake cornerstones from snapcrop.com. I did break the snowflake cornerstone into 4 smaller 1 inch pieces which I used in the corners of my 2nd page.  I also added 2 3x1 snowflake strips also from snapcrop.com.

I hope you all enjoy my pages!

Love the shades of blue and how some of the photos are almost b/w. Snow pictures are such fun - especially getting out there and getting them!

Ah...winter...it never seems to end. The snow on trees is one of the prettiest sights of winter. Your ride seems to capture that fresh snowfall moment, peaceful. I like the use of the cornerstones, and the patterns give a 'looking through the window pane' feel. Looks like you had fun!

The storm grid paper is a great choice for this layout! Really accents the snow photos. I also like the use of the cornerstones and snowflake strips. Nice way to document your trip!

I too am a Kinkade fan. Just a beautiful layout. I've never been on a snow machine but it looks like fun!

Wow - we both used storm grid paper. I also love snow and I probably have hundreds of photos over the years of blizzards and showstorms. Your photos are great and I like the cornerstones you used.

Absolutely beautiful. Winter scenes photograph so nicely. I love the snowflakes!!! The photographs of the trees with all of the snow, I'm sure in person the view is breathtaking.

I love Thomas Kinkade's work . . . and snow is my favorite thing -- except to drive in. Your countryside excursion looked like fun. You could easily get lost in every photo and wonderful way to take advantage of all the snow you've had this year.
