Cars Kids

My favorite Disney movie has to be Cars because of all the joy it brings to our grandchildren. Unfortunately, I had very little time to devote to this project. My original concept involved creating Lightening McQueen with my Cricut.

I lost an entire evening to creating my layered image; it didn’t work for me. Since the clock was ticking, I decided to revert to my handy, dandy fallback position. So I “googled “Cars movie posters, and found the perfect match.

Unfortunately, I had to take a four-day hiatus from all things scrapbooking and papercrafting to finish writing a script for our prison outreach. We were scheduled to perform on the evening of February 21st; I finished writing the script and laying in the sound effects on the 20th. On the 21st (today), I pulled together all my elements.

I started to do a diagram of my planned layout, but realized that I had no idea how my poster would fill in. Instead, I placed my photos on my Sunflower grid and filled in the blanks with my Cars poster.

I had just enough room to create a three-grid square for my title and journaling. It sort of sums up my feelings. I finished the page right before we left for the prison

Thanks so much for your kind comments. I told my husband that the first quarter of the year would be the craziest . . . and it is.

For a last minute project with lots of glitches, you did a great job. The children are so cute and the car poster is a great accent.

This is a really nice way to share the memories you'll have of these times, and the sentiment that you felt (and still feel!). It's something special that you shared with your grandchildren. I have pictures of teaching my neices to stamp when they were about 4 and 5 (now 16 and 17!). This is motivating me to get those scrapped! Cute kids too, by the way! :) As an aside, it continues to amaze me at how much so many of us have in common. I do outreach/education at the county jail on a monthly basis. And I can TOTALLY relate to the "little time" issues now during tax season! And Cricut issues? I venture to say we've all had them at one time or another! Hugs!

Diane, nice layout the photos are cute and don't we all love the movie Cars? I sure can relate to those Cricut mishaps.

Isn't it amazing how certain things, like the Cars movie and toys, can capture a child's imagination and they hold on to it for years of enjoyment? They'll appreciate this remembrance you've put together when they are older and say "remember when?"
