For the Love of Cats

I love kitties. Always have. I've had at least one cat from the tiime I was six months old. I love everything about them - their grace, their athleticism, and of course, their personalities! Every cat is different, and boy, do I have some characters in my house!  My older cat is "fluffy" (shhh - we don't use the F word....). Lucky just tolerates me and lets me pet her on the head. I think my husband could hang her by her toenails and she wouldn't mind. She's definitely Daddy's kitty.  Then I have two brothers - Romeo and Cicero. They are just over a year old and are extremely active. Much to Lucky's dismay, they think it's fun to chase her all over the house. Romeo is the lover - thus his name - when we went to meet them at he vet's office, Romeo immediately was loving me and purring loudly.  Now Cicero is the real character of the house - he has extra toes - 7 on each front paw and 5 on each back paw. In the front he almost looks like he has two feet on each leg. He's the big baby. He will stand at the top of the stairs if you are downstairs and cry and cry. When Tony leaves the house - cry. In the middle of the night when the lights go out - cry. And for whatever reason, he won't walk into our sunroom. He has to jump across the threshold. He also nestles into my arms at night and nurses on the inside of my elbow!

So, our first challenge for September was to "Be a Squirrel" and create a layout about a collection of ours. I have a LOT of cat figurines. I have one curio cabinet full of the smaller ones, and I have larger ones in my bedroom and in the sunroom. At some point I'm going to have to reduce the collection, but I love every one of them. Most were gifts. Some I bought on vacations to various places. Each one has a memory. There is a sun-bathing cat, a Buddha cat, a patriotic cat, a snowflake cat, a cat angel, a cat tea set, and numerous others.

There is no way I could do one layout with all of them - maybe an album!, so this only has a few. Hope you enjoy!

Here are a couple of detail photos - I made the large heart by covering a piece of cardstock with tissue paper. I stamped the paw prints, used punches for the cats, and added Dazzle borders and holographic hearts.

Cats are so fun to watch and I love the "happy cat" purr. What a great collection you have of both ornamental and living cats!

WOW! A true cat lover! I sure wish we had a zoom feature on here to be able to get in and see all the details! I know this is all about the patterns on the pages, but I do enjoy the details of everybody's work too! The paw print borders are a very nice addition, and your color scheme is classic. What a diverse collection, on the shelves and roaming your house!
